Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 15:1199.16
- Department: means the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 15:1199.3
- Program: means the inmate rehabilitation and workforce development program operated by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections as authorized by the provisions of this Part. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 15:1199.3
- Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
A. Once an inmate is accepted into the program, the inmate agrees to random drug testing to verify that he is drug free. Random drug testing shall be performed in accordance with rules or regulations adopted by the department.
B. If an inmate tests positive for a controlled dangerous substance as provided for in Subsection A of this Section, he may be removed from the program and returned to the custody of the department for the remainder of his sentence.
