Compensation and expenses of members of the education commission of the states shall be paid by the state board of regents for the member appointed by it, by the legislative coordinating council for legislator members and by the state board of education for all other members, except the governor. Members of the education commission of the states attending meetings of such commission, or attending a subcommittee meeting thereof authorized by such commission, shall be paid compensation, subsistence allowances, mileage and other expenses as provided in Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-3223. The state board of education shall include in its annual budget request funds necessary to finance this state’s contribution requirements under Kan. Stat. Ann. § 72-8261.
