Missouri Laws 162.845 – Organization election results, how determined — election of directors, when
1. The results of the balloting at each polling place shall be certified and transmitted to the state board of education and to the board of education of each school district comprising the proposed special district, immediately upon tabulation following the closing of the polls. The proposal to organize the special school district, to carry, must receive a majority of the total number of votes cast thereon in the area comprising the proposed special district. The state board of education from the results so certified and attested shall determine whether the proposal for the organization of the special school district has received a majority of the votes cast and shall certify the results to the board of education of each school district comprising the proposed special district. If the certificate shows that the proposition to organize the school district has received a majority of the votes cast, the state board of education shall then declare the special school district organized.
2. If the proposal to organize the special district is approved, the state board of education shall, within thirty days of the date of approval, call an election in the special district at which the board of education of the special district shall be elected; provided, however, the date for such an election shall not be more than ninety days after the date of approval.
