(a) A school district superintendent or the superintendent’s designee shall disclose information contained in a student’s educational records to a juvenile service provider as required by § 58.0051, Family Code.
(b) The commissioner may enter into an interagency agreement to share educational information for research and analytical purposes with the:
(1) Texas Juvenile Justice Department; and
(2) Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

(c) This section does not require or authorize release of student-level information except in conformity with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (20 U.S.C. § 1232g), as amended.
