While arbitration agreements can run to many pages, there are certain critical elements that should always be covered:

• the scope what disputes are subject to arbitration
• the arbitration organization that will used
• whether either side is entitled to be reimbursed for filing costs and legal fees
• the time in which an arbitration dispute must be filed
• whether an arbitration decision can be appealed to another arbitrator or panel of arbitrators
