Relevance
While the marital status of a party is generally irrelevant, such evidence is often admissible in the context of preliminary questioning of the party when testifying.{footnote}LeBrecht v. Presumption
A presumption is recognized in some states that two persons who went through a wedding ceremony are validly married.{footnote}CHeck Cal. § 660 et seq.{/footnote}
