- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- court: means the superior court of the state. See Alaska Statutes 47.14.990
- criminal justice information: has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. See Alaska Statutes 47.14.990
- department: means the Department of Family and Community Services. See Alaska Statutes 47.14.990
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- minor: has the meaning given in Alaska Stat. See Alaska Statutes 47.14.990
- month: means a calendar month unless otherwise expressed. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- writing: includes printing. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
