(a) When a defendant is convicted of a sex offense or child kidnapping by a court of this state, the written judgment must set out the requirements of Alaska Stat. § 12.63.010 and, if it can be determined by the court, whether that conviction will require the offender or kidnapper to register for life or a lesser period under Alaska Stat. Chapter 12.63.

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 12.55.148

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b) In this section, “sex offense” and “child kidnapping” have the meanings given in Alaska Stat. § 12.63.100.
