- state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
Members of the Alaska Workforce Investment Board listed in or appointed under Alaska Stat. § 23.15.550(a), including a designee of a member attending in place of the member, serve without compensation but are entitled to per diem and travel expenses authorized by law for boards and commissions under Alaska Stat. § 39.20.180. Nonvoting members of the board appointed under Alaska Stat. § 23.15.550(b) serve without compensation and are not entitled to per diem and travel expenses. A commissioner appointed under Alaska Stat. § 23.15.550(a)(2) or the commissioner’s designee is entitled to per diem and travel expenses as a state employee.
