(1) Release of a report of genetic testing for parentage is controlled by chapter 70.02 RCW.

Under the Washington Code, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:Class | Prison | Fine |

(2) An individual who intentionally releases an identifiable specimen of another individual collected for genetic testing under RCW 26.26A.300 through 26.26A.355, for a purpose not relevant to a proceeding regarding parentage, without a court order or written permission of the individual who furnished the specimen, commits a gross misdemeanor punishable under RCW 9.92.020.
