Any use of the state seal by a state agency after July 1, 2018, shall comply with S.D. Const., Art. XXI, § 1 and §§ 1-6-1 and 1-6-2. Any use of the seal existing prior to that date may continue to be used.

- Seal: includes an impression of the seal upon the paper alone, as well as upon wax or a wafer affixed to the paper, and also the word "seal" written or printed on such paper. See South Dakota Codified Laws 2-14-2
