No snowmobile may be operated upon or across an interstate highway, except that it may cross in the ditch of an underpass or on the extreme right of an overpass. No snowmobile may be operated, other than by a law enforcement officer or a railroad employee in the lawful discharge of duties, upon any railroad rightofway, except that it may be driven directly across a railroad crossing after stopping and yielding the rightofway to approaching railroad traffic. A violation of this section is a Class 2 misdemeanor.
