Any licensee or registrant who fails to comply with the continuing education or continuing competency requirements set forth in this chapter may, at the discretion of the board, be reexamined to determine his or her competency to continue licensure or registration. If, in the opinion of the board, a licensee or registrant does not qualify for further practice, the board may, in compliance with chapter 1-26, suspend the license or registration until the time the licensee or registrant provides acceptable evidence to the board of his or her competency to practice.
