If a longterm care policy replaces another longterm care policy issued by the company or by an affiliated company, the insurer shall waive any time period applicable to preexisting conditions, waiting periods, elimination periods, and probationary periods in the new longterm care policy for similar benefits to the extent such time was spent under the original policy.
