Terms Used In Maryland Code, PUBLIC SAFETY 4-107

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

    (1) a state, possession, territory, or commonwealth of the United States; or

    (2) the District of Columbia. See
On or before September 1 of each year, the Executive Director shall report to the Governor and, subject to § 2-1257 of the State Government Article, to the General Assembly on:

(1) the distribution of money under this subtitle; and

(2) the ratio of protective body armor to police officers in each local jurisdiction of the State that applied for money from the Fund.
