- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
) A non-custodial parent may file a petition for an administrative hearing after being served the notice of proposed action.
(b) Upon receipt of the petition for hearing the Department acquires jurisdiction of the non-custodial parent for purposes of adjudication of the non-custodial parent’s petition for hearing under the Administrative Adjudication Law 5 Guam Code Ann. §§ 9100-9241.
