Terms Used In 15 Guam Code Ann. § 3510

  • Charity: An agency, institution, or organization in existence and operating for the benefit of an indefinite number of persons and conducted for educational, religious, scientific, medical, or other beneficent purposes.
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Probate: Proving a will
parent who knowingly or wilfully abandons or having the ability so to do, fails to maintain his minor child under fourteen (14) years of age, forfeits all right to the guardianship of such child and a parent or guardian who knowingly permits his child or ward to become an object of charity for a period of six (6) months, abandons and forever forfeits all right to the guardianship of the child.
