- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.

- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
e clerk shall set the petition for hearing by the court. At the request of the person so declared insane or for whom a guardian has been appointed, the question of his restoration to capacity must be tried by the court. At least five (5) days’ notice of the trial must be given to the guardian of the person so declared insane, or for whom a guardian has been appointed, if there is a guardian, and to the person’s spouse, if any, and to his or her father and mother, if in the territory of Guam.
