- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
It is unlawful for a person on or after April 1, 1972, to violate a provision of § 31-1-40 or any ordinance relative to it. A person violating a provision of § 31-1-40 is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than five hundred dollars for each offense.
