Terms Used In South Carolina Code 40-75-130
- Board: means the South Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Addictions Counselors, and Psycho-Educational Specialists. See South Carolina Code 40-75-20
- Licensee: means an individual who has met the requirements for licensure under this article and has been issued a license to practice as a professional counselor or professional counselor associate, marriage and family therapist or marriage and family therapy associate, or addiction counselor associate. See South Carolina Code 40-75-20
As provided for in § 40-1-130, the board may deny licensure to an applicant based on the same grounds for which the board may take disciplinary action against a licensee.
