Terms Used In South Carolina Code 56-1-1380

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Upon conviction of the offense stated in § 56-1-1320, outside the jurisdiction of the State, the person convicted may apply for the provisional driver’s license in the event his South Carolina driver’s license is revoked as a result of such conviction.
