Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 1:16

  • governor and council: shall mean the governor with the advice and consent of the council. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:31-a
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
The ownership of the waters and submerged lands enumerated in or described in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 1:14 and 15 shall be in this state. The department of natural and cultural resources and the fish and game department, in cooperation with other interested agencies and departments of the state and with the approval of the governor and council, shall be authorized to issue rules and regulations for the purpose of protecting fishing rights, marine life, mining and mineral rights and oil and gas rights of the state and to control pollution in the seaward territory of the state as defined in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 1:14, II and III.
