(a) A foundation’s registered agent is the foundation’s agent for service of process, notice, or demand required or permitted by law to be served on the foundation.
(b) A foundation may be served by registered mail or certified mail if:

(1) The foundation does not have a registered agent; or
(2) After reasonable diligence, the foundation’s registered agent cannot be served.
(c) Service under subsection (b) shall be effective if:
(1) It is correctly addressed to the foundation at the foundation’s principal office;
(2) Postage is prepaid; and
(3) It is sent return receipt requested.
(d) Service under subsection (b) is perfected at the earliest of:
(1) The date on which the foundation receives the documents sent by registered mail or certified mail;
(2) If a person signs the return receipt on the foundation’s behalf, the date of receipt shown on the return receipt; or
(3) Five days after its deposit for mailing with the United States Postal Service, as evidenced by the postmark.
(e) This section does not preclude other means of serving a foundation.
