Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 16:2
- petition: when used in connection with the equity jurisdiction of the superior court, and referring to a document filed with the court, shall mean complaint, and "petitioner" shall mean plaintiff. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:51
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
There shall be filed with the secretary of state a petition for the calling of a special session of the general court which petition shall be signed by not less than 50 members of the house of representatives, not more than 10 of whom shall reside in the same county, and signed by not less than 8 members of the senate. Said petition shall state the reason or reasons why the public welfare requires a special session of the general court.
