The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
Notwithstanding the provisions of N.H. Rev. Stat. § 39:1 any town which adopts a fiscal year accounting period pursuant to RSA 31, may by majority vote, hold its annual town meeting on the second Tuesday of May for the selection of town officers and the transaction of all other town business. A meeting shall be warned by the selectmen, when in their opinion, there shall be occasion therefor.
