Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 94:1-d

  • Joint committee: Committees including membership from both houses of teh legislature. Joint committees are usually established with narrow jurisdictions and normally lack authority to report legislation.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
Each acting director or administrative head of any state agency or department shall submit his or her recommendation relative to appropriate letter grades for any new position, vacancy, upgrade or downgrade occurring in the agency or department to the commissioner of administrative services. The commissioner shall submit the recommendation to an outside consultant retained for the purpose of assessing the appropriate letter grade of unclassified state officers. The consultant shall assess the recommended allocation, recommend an alternate allocation, if necessary, and include the reasoning for such allocation in its report. The commissioner shall submit the consultant’s report to the joint committee established in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 14:14-c, for its review and temporary letter grade allocation.
