The commissioner shall maintain behavioral health services for children and adolescents in one or more facilities as designated by the commissioner. All services for children and adolescents shall be appropriate for each child’s developmental stage and shall address the educational, supervisory, and clinical needs of each child. The purposes of child and adolescent services shall include but not be limited to:
I. Care and treatment of children with mental illnesses who are admitted on a voluntary basis pursuant to N.H. Rev. Stat. § 135-C:4, III or involuntarily pursuant to N.H. Rev. Stat. § 135-C:27-54.
II. Evaluation, care, and treatment of children under RSA 169-B, 169-C, and 169-D, subject to the provisions of N.H. Rev. Stat. § 135-C:65.

- Commissioner: means the commissioner of the department of health and human services. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 135-C:2
- Treatment: means examination, diagnosis, training, rehabilitation therapy, pharmaceuticals, and other services provided to clients in the mental health services system. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 135-C:2
