Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 189:20
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
A foreign language may be taught in elementary schools; provided, that the course of study (or its equivalent) outlined by the state board in the branches named in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 189:19 be not abridged but be taught in compliance with the law of the state.
