Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 237-A:13
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
The provisions of this chapter shall not in any way limit, restrict or alter the obligation or powers of the state to carry out and perform in every detail each and every promise, covenant, agreement or contract made or entered into, prior to the enactment of this chapter, including without limitation obligations under turnpike bonds issued prior to July 1, 1971, or limit, restrict or alter the powers, rights, authority, duties or obligations of the treasurer or the commissioner of transportation or any other officer of the state to do and perform each and every act or thing required on the part of the state or any such officer to be done or performed by any such promise, covenant, agreement or contract.
