Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 362:3
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.

The term “common carrier by rail” shall include every corporation, company association, joint stock association, partnership and person, their lessees, trustees, or receivers appointed by any court, owning or operating any railroad for common carriage of passengers or freight or carrying on a public express business for compensation over the line of any railroad. It shall also include all bridges and other structures owned, leased or used.
