Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 594:13

  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.

If a lawful cause of arrest exists, the arrest will be lawful even though the officer charged the wrong offense or gave a reason that did not justify the arrest.
