Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 597:21
- Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
Persons arrested on Sunday, or on the evening or afternoon preceding, may be admitted to bail on that day when in the opinion of the commissioner an application for that purpose appears to be proper.
