Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 605:3
- Indictment: The formal charge issued by a grand jury stating that there is enough evidence that the defendant committed the crime to justify having a trial; it is used primarily for felonies.
- person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
- Plea: In a criminal case, the defendant's statement pleading "guilty" or "not guilty" in answer to the charges, a declaration made in open court.

A person indicted may plead guilty of any minor offense which is included in the indictment, and if such plea is accepted by the state‘s counsel, judgment shall be rendered thereon.
