Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 608:3

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
The party ordered to recognize may appeal to the superior court at the next term to be held for the county on giving the security required by the order and security to pay such costs as may be awarded against him on the appeal.
