Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 8 Sec. 4364

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States may apply to the District of Columbia and any territory and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See

§ 4364. Control of association

Except as otherwise provided pursuant to this subchapter, an association shall be subject to the same rules and control as other corporations or associations taking similar risks in this State, and the Commissioner shall have jurisdiction and power over the association as provided by the insurance laws of this State.
