Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 9 Sec. 4471
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- Tenant: means a person entitled under a rental agreement to occupy a residential dwelling unit to the exclusion of others. See
§ 4471. Definitions
As used in this subchapter:
(1) “Abuse” has the same meaning as in 15 V.S.A. § 1101.
(2) “Protected tenant” means a tenant who is:
(A) a victim of abuse, sexual assault, or stalking;
(B) a parent, foster parent, legal guardian, or caretaker with at least partial physical custody of a victim of abuse, sexual assault, or stalking.
(3) “Sexual assault” and “stalking” have the same meaning as in 12 V.S.A. § 5131. (Added 2019, No. 48, § 2.)
