- Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
- State: means the State of Vermont; a county, a municipality, or other subdivision thereof; commission, board, department, or agency thereof; or any other governmental entity authorized or created by State law, including public corporations and authorities. See
§ 506. Failure of Superior Court clerk to pay over
If a Superior Court clerk neglects to make a return or pay into the State Treasury any money as provided in this chapter, the Commissioner of Finance and Management shall forthwith notify the State’s Attorney, who shall immediately prosecute the clerk and the sureties on his or her official bond.
