Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 32 Sec. 4342
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Town: shall include city and wards or precincts therein; "selectboard members" and "board of civil authority" shall extend to and include the mayor and aldermen of cities; "trustees" shall extend to and include bailiffs of incorporated villages; and the laws applicable to the inhabitants and officers of towns shall be applicable to the inhabitants and similar officers of all municipal corporations. § 4342. Extensions by the Director
On written application therefor made by the listers or assessors of any town, with the approval of the selectboard of the town or mayor of the city, the several dates fixed by law and extended by section 4341 of this title or the charter of any municipal corporation, on or before which certain acts must be done relating to duties of listers and assessors, may be further extended by the Director and such extensions shall be in writing.
