Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 3 Sec. 856
- Member: means a Legislator who is included in the membership of the Legislative Retirement Program, as provided in section 801. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 3 Sec. 701
- Retirement: means the termination of membership service with a retirement allowance granted under this chapter. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 3 Sec. 701
If a member or a former member who is receiving a disability retirement allowance dies as a result of an injury received in the line of duty, benefits must be paid on the same basis as provided for members of the State Employee and Teacher Retirement Program by Title 5, chapter 423, subchapter 5, article 5.
