1. Scope of license. A certified residential real property appraiser license entitles the holder to appraise residential real estate or real property of one to 4 residential units, without regard to value or complexity and to appraise vacant or unimproved land that is to be used for one to 4 family units or for which the highest and best use is for one to 4 family units. A certified residential real property appraiser license does not entitle the holder to appraise subdivisions for which a development analysis and appraisal is necessary.

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14036
- Appraiser qualifications board: means an independent board of the appraisal foundation authorized to establish the minimum education, experience and examination criteria for licensed real estate appraisers. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14002
- Board: means the Board of Real Estate Appraisers. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14002
- Real estate: means an identified parcel of land, including improvements, if any. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14002
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
- Real property: means one or more defined interests, benefits or rights inherent in the ownership of real estate. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14002
2. Professional qualifications. An applicant for a certified residential real property appraiser license must meet the licensing requirements established by the appraiser qualifications board. As a prerequisite to taking the examination required by section 14036?A, an applicant must meet the requirements specified in rules adopted by the appraiser qualifications board.
