Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-A Sec. 3806

  • Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Corrections or his designee, except that, when the term "commissioner and only the commissioner" is used, the term applies only to the person appointed Commissioner of Corrections and not to any designee. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 34-A Sec. 1001
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • United States: includes territories and the District of Columbia. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
The commissioner may contract with the Attorney General of the United States for the confinement and support in the Long Creek Youth Development Center of juvenile offenders against the laws of the United States in accordance with the United States Code, title 18, §§ 706 and 707.
