Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 38 Sec. 1038
- Majority: when used in reference to age shall mean the age of 18 and over. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
- Sewer district: means a district, including a multipurpose district and standard district, created by a private and special law of the State whose purposes include collection, interception and treatment of sewerage. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 38 Sec. 1032
A sewer district existing on January 1, 2013 may, but is not required to, reorganize as a sanitary district under the Maine Sanitary District Enabling Act by referendum in accordance with section 1101, subsection 1?A. The referendum may be initiated by the voters or by a majority of the trustees. [PL 2013, c. 555, §6 (NEW).]
