Subdivision 1.Clerk’s duties.
The clerk shall record the statement of need for a special town meeting after it is filed. The clerk shall also give ten days’ published notice of the time, place, and purpose of the meeting.
Subd. 2.Published or posted notice.
The notice must be published in a qualified newspaper having general circulation in the town. An alternative to published notice is posted notice as directed by the town board unless the electors at an annual town meeting direct otherwise.
Subd. 3.Vacancy details in notice.
If a vacancy in an office is to be filled, the notice must name the office and tell how the vacancy occurred, who was the last incumbent, and when the term of the office expires.
