Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
Federal assistance programs: means any financial assistance made to a state agency by an agency of the United States government, whether a grant, loan, gift, contract, or in any other form. See Montana Code 17-3-102
Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
Grantee agency: means any agency of state government receiving federal funds. See Montana Code 17-3-102
State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
State agency: means any agency of state government eligible to apply for and receive federal funds. See Montana Code 17-3-102
United States: includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
