85-8-613. Assessments against certain corporations. Assessments against all public corporations or any private corporation not owning land within the district shall be payable to the county treasurer wherein the court having jurisdiction of the district is located, on or before September 1 of each year.

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
