Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 30:2467

  • Baseline: Projection of the receipts, outlays, and other budget amounts that would ensue in the future without any change in existing policy. Baseline projections are used to gauge the extent to which proposed legislation, if enacted into law, would alter current spending and revenue levels.
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Person: means any individual, municipality, public or private corporation, partnership, firm, the United States Government, and any agent or subdivision thereof or any other juridical person, which shall include, but not be limited to, trusts, joint stock companies, associations, the state of Louisiana, political subdivisions of the state of Louisiana, commissions, and interstate bodies. The coordinator may contract with any private person or entity for the use of equipment and personnel at places the coordinator determines may be necessary for response and prevention operations, in accordance with the state oil spill contingency plan.  The coordinator may contract with any public agency, via interagency transfer of funds, to conduct baseline environmental, wetlands, water quality, habitat, wildlife, and natural resources assessments, or for any other matter deemed necessary to comply with the state and national oil spill contingency plans.
