(1) Except as provided in ORS § 255.400 to 255.424, a district school board may increase the number of board members from five members to seven members on its own motion, or the district school board:
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 332.012
- District school board: means the board of directors of a common school district or a union high school district. See Oregon Statutes 332.002
- School district: means a common or union high school district. See Oregon Statutes 332.002
(a) May submit the question to the electors of the school district; or
(b) Shall submit the question to the electors of the school district when a petition is filed as provided in this section.
(2) Subject to ORS § 332.118, a petition filed under this section shall be prepared, circulated and filed as provided for an initiative petition in ORS § 255.135 to 255.205. [1997 c.521 § 18; 2019 c.449 § 29]
