If provided in the laws of the society, other persons may become members of a lodge organized under ORS § 748.309 subsequent to its organization and may be initiated into and hold membership in the lodge. Individual benefit certificates may be issued to them. The lodges shall in all other respects be subject to the laws of the society. [1987 c.490 § 40]

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 748.312

  • Laws: means the society's articles of incorporation, constitution and bylaws, however designated. See Oregon Statutes 748.103
  • Lodge: means subordinate member units of the society, known as camps, courts, councils, branches or by any other designation. See Oregon Statutes 748.103
  • Society: means fraternal benefit society, unless otherwise indicated. See Oregon Statutes 748.103
