Oregon Statutes 748.509 – Validity of petition for injunction
No application or petition for injunction against any domestic, foreign or alien society, or lodge thereof, shall be recognized in any court of this state unless made by the Attorney General upon request of the Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services. [1987 c.490 § 33]
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 748.509
- Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
- Lodge: means subordinate member units of the society, known as camps, courts, councils, branches or by any other designation. See Oregon Statutes 748.103
- Society: means fraternal benefit society, unless otherwise indicated. See Oregon Statutes 748.103
