(1) The State Marine Board shall prepare and make available to the public forms for accident reports required in ORS § 830.480. The report shall call for sufficiently detailed information to disclose the cause of an accident, conditions then existing, and the persons and vehicles involved. Every accident report shall be made on a form approved by the board.

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 830.485

  • Board: means the State Marine Board. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
  • Boat: means every description of watercraft, including a seaplane on the water and not in flight, used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on the water, but does not include boathouses, floating homes, air mattresses, beach and water toys or single inner tubes. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

(2) The State Health Officer shall on or before the 15th day of each month forward to the board a copy of the death record of any persons within the jurisdiction of the State Health Officer who died from a boat accident during the preceding calendar month. [Formerly 488.172; 2013 c.366 § 86]
